This book changed how I thought about reading; it was the first book I read that combined a fantastic plot with excellent vivid characters with a kind of truth. I really understood why characters acted how they did and a few chapters in they ceased to be characters and seemed real. Following Jane from her gloomy childhood through to her encounters with Mr Rochester as a governess to the famous finale, it is hard to accept that you will not spend anymore time with Jane. I really admire this book as Jane is not a conventional heroine, she can be frustrating and often howlingly rude but as you have been snared by the magic this book creates, it just makes the book even better. This is a book everyone should read at least once.
